Ariam by Elaine Torres
This photo series was taken in Puerto Rico during Elaine's visit back home after Hurricane Maria.
"I went back home after hurricane Maria and though you can see the damage caused to structure and nature, I’ve never seen Puerto Rico so beautiful. The green landscapes are as resilient as the people, making their way back, but with a special strength and assertiveness. I decided to ditch the indoor studio and construct an outdoor one instead. I shot in tune with the grey skies and fallen trees, and even though I was completely out of my comfort zone, I wanted to show a little bit of the enticement and symmetry that the landscape still holds."
